Jenny Ahmed, a novelist recognized for her immersive dystopian and political thrillers, announces the upcoming publication of her newest work, Seismic Eruptions. Scheduled for release on February 5, this novel envisions the eruption of Yellowstone, a catastrophic event that threatens to upend civilization. In a genre often dominated by male voices, Ahmed continues to forge her own path by combining her vast medical background, deep love of writing, and dedication to service into stories that blend scientific plausibility with riveting plots.

Ahmed’s career began in the intensive care and emergency room settings, where she spent decades as a registered nurse. While caring for critical patients, she also pursued legal studies, gaining valuable insights into the corridors of power. At the same time, she explored her lifelong passion for writing, an interest that dates back to her childhood on a Southern farm. She recalls having few companions besides her three horses, so she filled her days by inventing stories and sharing them with her equine friends. As she matured, she brought her imagination into professional writing and copywriting roles, eventually parlaying her experiences into a sustained publishing career.

Over the years, Ahmed has excelled in multiple arenas. She has balanced the demanding pace of clinical work with an entrepreneurial spirit that led her to own a Jewish women’s publication, Women’s Weekly. There, she published regular columns on topics ranging from current affairs to community life. Despite her busy professional and family schedules, which include grown children and grandchildren, Ahmed never wavered in her desire to craft compelling novels. She attributes much of her creative focus to the influences she enjoyed during her youth. Her best friend was Penny, the daughter of esteemed science-fiction writer Piers Anthony, a fact that further fueled Ahmed’s passion for imaginative storytelling.

Ahmed’s most recently published novel before Seismic Eruptions is All the King’s Men, a political thriller and mystery that has garnered attention for its provocative storyline. The narrative begins with the shocking discovery of the Speaker of the House, Pearl Owens, hanging from a veranda in the House of Representatives. This act leads to the imprisonment of the fictional U.S. President, Cameron Walker, who faces serious accusations of corruption. Ahmed’s willingness to delve into complex political intrigue reflects her commitment to examining the darker edges of power, loyalty, and national identity. While she avoids providing detailed spoilers, she allows readers enough of a glimpse to understand that her fictional universe is rife with high-stakes conflict.

Having established herself as an author of intricate, suspenseful stories, Ahmed is eager to introduce Seismic Eruptions, which explores the scientific and social implications of a Yellowstone eruption. Drawing on her medical expertise, she envisions a world on the brink of environmental disaster, where communities struggle to adapt to the chaos around them. Her background in emergency and intensive care adds an authentic layer to her depiction of disaster response protocols, medical triage, and the emotional toll such events can take on both professionals and civilians. Ahmed’s deep understanding of anatomy, trauma, and crisis management enables her to create realistic scenarios.

In addition to her work in fiction, Ahmed is deeply involved in philanthropy. She and her husband founded a non-profit organization in New York City that operates food banks, senior centers, rent assistance programs, and other community services. Their organization is also opening a free medical clinic, named the L’Chaim Free Clinic, where Ahmed serves as the Medical Director. She continues pursuing a nurse practitioner program in parallel with her writing, believing that healthcare should be accessible to all. Despite coming from different faith traditions—Ahmed is Jewish, and her husband is Muslim—they have created an inclusive environment that welcomes people of every background. Catering to all communities and faiths, their non-profit aims to build a more harmonious social fabric within the metropolitan area and beyond.

Ahmed regards her community service as a vital principle aligned with Jewish values. She considers it essential to extend help to anyone facing difficult circumstances, regardless of their culture or religious heritage. This dedication to service has also become part of her broader network, as she and her husband coordinate with like-minded organizations to expand the range of assistance they can offer. Their non-profit is predominantly self-funded, reflecting their deep conviction in its mission.

Throughout her writing career, Ahmed has published seven books, with three more in active development. Her first publication, Tough Mama’s Guide to Survival ~ Survive and Thrive, once achieved the top rank on Amazon in the prepper genre. She attributes that success to her authenticity in writing about crisis situations and her unique perspective as a healthcare professional. She loves weaving stories in a way that illuminates large-scale global threats and intimate human challenges. Each new project allows her to incorporate the technical knowledge she gained from years of hands-on medical experience.

Seismic Eruptions will join Ahmed’s repertoire of novels on February 5. Readers can expect a suspenseful storyline that questions humanity’s capacity to survive a disaster of colossal proportions. Ahmed views this work as an attempt to remind society of the importance of resilience, responsibility, and unity when confronted with existential threats. She hopes that audiences will reflect on their preparedness for natural or human-made disasters through her portrayal of a Yellowstone eruption. While she maintains that it is purely a fictional narrative, she believes in the educational value of exploring how fragile modern life can be and how communities might come together in times of widespread emergency.

Next up for the prolific Ahmed is the novel Utopia, scheduled to be released on February 10. The book explores the intriguing story of the first colonists arriving on Mars.
